Honestly wasn't sure what I was expecting when I walked into Azaad. The reviews while sparse were positive and the price was right so what the hell.

I walked in and shit was empty... granted it was about 2-3pm so normal people probably arent eating but yeah. An indian couple who I presume to be the owners of the establishment were chilling and watching indian TV. That's good news to me. I could go for some home style Indian.

Got the Chicken Biryani and some samosas and the Biryani hit the spot. For about 7 bucks it came loaded in an entire tray with a few chicken legs thrown in. The rice was flavorful and I destroyed that foam tray's worth of Biryani.

I'm just glad I found a place relatively close by that has quantity as well as quality for a solid price. Too many half ass Biryanis that cost double

To start, this place is a mom and pop business so don't expect it to be a Starr restaurant. The place doesn't look very inviting and it could use something remodeling. The tables were dirty but my food came on a tray so i didn't feel too uncomfortable.

I ordered the veggie samosa since they didn't have any made with meat. It was perfectly seasoned and delicious. The sauces complimented the samosas perfectly. The green sauce had a kick to it and the red sauce was a little thicker and also sweet and tangy.

I ordered the curry goat with saag and tofu. The entree came with a side salad and naan. Everything was perfectly seasoned and spicy just how I like it. The goat was tender and naan was fluffy and light.

They have a whole fridge of desserts that I'll have to try next time.

Service was perfect. Quick and friendly. Papdi chat so fresh and slightly spicy. Unbelievable portion for your money. I loved every single bite !
Still the best fresh Indian Food. I came with a friend she never tried Indian food before. She enjoyed her butter chicken with rice. Very large portions. We both took most of our food home. I had the rich and very flavorful Chicken Tike Masala. Extra Spicy. Rich Tomato Sauce with peppers and plenty of tender chicken. The naan were soft and buttery very big portion perfect to share. We ate in. Just a few benches nothing fancy but it's clean and they're extremely nice. You can even watch Indian Tv. Love this place. I haven't tried a desert yet but I definitely will. Bottom Line if you want authentic reasonably priced Indian food try Azaad.  You will like it.

There is limited street parking and seating available. When you walk in there are refrigerated cases with all sorts of beautiful and colorful desserts. You also get a whiff of Indian spices because there is food available too.  Homemade meals like biriyani and different types of curries are available. There's also snacks, like pakora (peppers dipped in batter and fried - yummmm), and samosas.

However the real reason I LOVE this place is the Indian desserts and snacks! My favorites : Laddu and Gulab Jamun.

I gave it four stars because I wish it was a little tidier and cleaner but i dont feel that impacts the quality of the food - just the dining in experience.  I will be back for more take out though. Quality indian desserts and snacks at a reasonable price

We ordered through doordash. Three curry chicken platters, two chicken tikka masala platters, three plain naan, two garlic naan, and three mango lassi.

We sat down to eat and there was no rice anywhere to be found. I have never before in my life had an Indian platter that didn't come with rice. The portion sizes were huge, so I thought the rice might be under the meat and sauce, but it was not there. I called the restaurant and they said their dishes do not come with rice and I had to ask for it separately. What? Whatever.

The kids complained that their curry was spicy. I tasted it, and while I thought it was not at all delicious, it really wasn't all that spicy.  My brother liked it. My nephew ate his naan and although he claims the chicken tasted good, he still put his chicken away in the fridge after a few bites. My niece just stared at us all for a while then politely asked if she could save all her food for later, which means never.

My niece said the mango lassi made her feel nauseated. I don't believe her at all, more like she just didn't like it, but that's what she said. My nephew drank a few sips and asked if he could make himself some tea.

I had my one of my favorite foods, chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. The chicken was quite spicy and it just tasted like salt. There was none of the usual interesting, intricate flavors that are the reason I loooove chicken tikka masala. The garlic naan was ok, but nothing special. I drank some of my niece's lassi, and although I don't care for mango, I didn't hate it. I saved it for later, though. ‍
